Setup Instructions

Windows 95 and 98 Here | MS ME and XP Here

The Windows 95 / 98 & changes Dial Up Networking Setup Instructions
(Note: click with the left mouse button unless otherwise specified)

Step 1: Dial-up Adapter  -  MS Windows 95 and MS Windows 98

1. Double click "My Computer"
2. If there is a folder called "Dial-Up Networking" skip to Step 3: New Connection
3.Go into "Control Panel"
4. Double click on "Add/Remove Programs"
5. Click on "Windows Setup" tab
6. Double click on "Communications"
7. Check mark on "Dial-Up Networking"
8. Click "OK"  Windows 95 98
9. Click "OK"
10. Insert the Windows 95 CD-Rom if requested
11. Reboot when requested

Step 2: TCP/IP  -  MS Windows 95 and MS Windows 98

12. Go to "My Computer"
13. Go to "Control Panel"
14. Double click on "Network"
15. If there is TCP/IP under the Dial -Up Adapter then go to STEP 3
16. Click on "Add"
17. Click on "Protocol"
18. Click on "Add"
19. Click on "Microsoft"
20. Click on "TCP/IP"
21. Click on "OK"
22. Click on "OK"
23. Insert the Windows 95 CD-ROM if requested
24.Reboot when requested

Step3: New Connection  -  MS Windows 95 and MS Windows 98

1. Double click on "My Computer"
2. Double click on "Dial-Up Networking"
3. If there is an Icon "Make New Connection" double click on it
4. Under the Name Of Connection... type in "About Calgary"
5. Click on the "Next"
6. Under "Area Code", Type in your area code (Canada and USA)
7. Under "Telephone number, Type In the phone number you received from About Calgary.
8. Click "Next"
9. Click "Finish"

The following is not necessary but will make connecting to About Calgary Servers faster!
10. High-light or right click on "About Calgary"
11. Click "Properties" under "File"
12. Click "Server Type..."
13. Make sure TCP/IP and Enable software compression are the only check boxes that are checked.
DNS Servers and gateway are automatically assigned to you when you connect!
14. Click "OK"
15. Click "OK" You now double click on the About Calgary icon in dialup networking to log in. Have Fun!
16. Type in your userid and password then click on the connect button.

MS WINDOWS ME and XP DUN Setup Instructions

Step 1: TCP/IP  -  MS Windows ME and MS Windows XP

1. Go to "Control Panel"
2. Double click on "Network"
3. Select "TCP/IP" then click "Properties", then select "DNS Configuration"
4. "Disable DNS" Should be selected Click "Ok".  Leave the rest as is.
5. If you are asked to reboot, do so now.

Step3: New Connection  -  MS Windows ME and MS Windows XP

1. Go To Control Panel and double click the "Dial Up Networking" icon.
3. If there is an Icon "Make New Connection" double click on it
4. Under the Name Of Connection... type in "About Calgary"
5. Click on the "Next"
6. Under "Area Code", Type in your area code (Canada and USA)
7. Under "Telephone number, Type In the phone number you received from About Calgary.
8. Click "Next"
9. Click "Finish"
